Nightfall. . .

. . . on a stormy night at the beach.

Storm . . .

. . . clears the beach.

Poor lifeguards. With the obligation of keeping people safe on the beach, it's sometimes a losing battle for them. The lifeguard stationed in front of our hotel dutiful whistled folks out of the water and then ultimately off the beach when the storm started. The well-behaved beach-goers are shown in my picture, they dutifully came up to wash their feet off and leave. Many others, however, took advantage of the lifeguard's turned back to drift back out on the beach. While he was busy waving folks to his north off the beach, folks to his south drifted back out on the beach. While he got those southerly folks off the beach, the northerners spilled off the boardwalk onto the sand. Finally, he managed to get the beach cleared just about the same time the sky was clearing up and he whistled folks back onto the beach.

We went for a walk after the first storm and got caught in the second storm. By the time we got back to our hotel, the lifeguard had successfully cleared the beach and was heading for cover himself. The thunder and lightning continue...it's a rain that has settled in for a while.

Free Frosty Day at Wendy's

A celebration of free Frosty's and surviving the semester. They even gave free Frosty's to go!

Twice this month I've gone out to eat...actually left the office and didn't eat with one hand on the mouse. Imagine that there's this whole other world out there-amazing!
